Being overweight is not good anytime. It’s hard on joints, muscles. But what do you do when it is GI damage that causes it?
I usually weigh around 130 lbs, took a hard fall on the hall way to garage face first, minor concussion, but the fall damaged the VAGUS nerve to the stomach. In and out of the ER/hospital every couple of months, Idiopathic Colitis. Wrong diagnosis. By the time the PCP ran test the Gastro wouldn’t he found Gastropresis, SLOW DIGESTION takes slightly over 4 hrs to digest 2 slices of toast 2 scrambled eggs, laced with dye. 4 hrs of AB photos taken every hr. Took just over the 4 hrs to digest what normal people do in 1 hr. Your diet becomes Carbs, soft meats, backed or mashed non fiber food. It’s been 7 yrs and slowly the abdomen looks 9 months pregnant. I’ve had 4 boys so I’m aware how big you get. PAIN is constant, Colon gets hit hard, small intestine is painful as it doesn’t dump into the colon well. I’m to the point of 166 lbs because of Carbs and now Type 2 Diabetic. Med isn’t working well. I eat off a saucer to keep portions small. But Mostly Carbs puts weight on you. Diabetic diet does NOT mix. Add in severe spinal issues, you don’t walk much. Ready for a motorized wheelchair.
I self quarantined. I’m in pain, and not one of those 4 specialist I see can fix a DAMN thing.
Prayers for you, GailA. May God bless you in His infinite mercy.
Sounds tough, hopefully you can still take some alcohol :)
