Recent reporting by Spencer Ackerman and Will Sommer at The Daily Beast ties Ratcliffe, at least tangentially, to dangerous conspiracy theories on Twitter.

This a serious man with a serious job. He's not some clown on the internet reading about bat boy. Don't compare yourself to a serious man.
He could have simply been curious, which is not taking something serious. He could have also been skeptical, which led to his courteousness. Or, as you said, he could have taken it serious, as in a serious threat to national security.
A threat because, possible national security information actually IS being released. A threat because it is a front for the deep state, or foreign government. A threat because it can cause a portion of the population to act on orders from an anonymous enemy.
Anything anonymous is typically dubious in nature. I don’t expect Q to be an excption.
