WASHINGTON — Joe Biden’s remarkable comeback from the depths of a fifth-place finish in the New Hampshire primary to all but locking up the Democratic nomination this month can be traced to his overwhelming support among black voters. And one critical endorsement — from South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn — helped reinforce that support at a tenuous moment in his candidacy.
As Biden now takes steps to begin formally vetting potential running mate, there are few voices more influential to the former vice president than Clyburn’s. And while there may be pressure from some in the party to not just choose a woman, but an African American woman, Clyburn is more circumspect.
“I think having a woman on the ticket is a must,” the No. 3 House Democrat said in an interview with NBC News. “I’m among those who feel that it would be great for him to select a woman of color. But that is not a must.”

Biden already said he wants someone that “looks like America.” Clyburn probably had to say that to make the white girls still participate in joint-events with him, as if they’re actually being considered.

And the best part is that no matter which female he chooses, large portions of their own party will tear her to shreds for being either too moderate or too liberal.

I wonder if Clyburn thinks that Stacey Abrams would repel voters in the general election, even though black women would be excited by her selection.
I wonder if some Democrat powers that be do not like the sight of Abrams throwing her weight around, and seeming to be campaigning to be fingered by Joe as his running mate.
A black female VP candidate could bring up the ratings in the VP debate. That’s because Pence won’t be there. Trump will. Should Biden win we’d have the first black female president b4 the 4 years are up therefore Trump has to take her on,. Make the one debate topic racism-right up her wheelhouse. Let Trump take on the whole industry.

Trump hasn’t committed to participating in the presidential debates much less any other debates. If he’s smart he’ll avoid them because there is nothing to be gained by going through them.
