(their $40.00 electric chain saw comes to mind - ECCH!)

I was helping a friend, a divorced lady who had the top of a tree come down in her driveway during a storm. She had borrowed one of those chain saws from someone for me to use.

Absolutely worthless! Only took me a couple of minutes to give up and to take the tree apart with my Ace Hardware bow saw.

The bar is held in place by a cap nut on the outside cover, but it’s kept from moving up and down by a molded-in plastic pin, which broke almost immediately. It is damn near impossible to keep the chain on the bar. I was able to finish what I needed to do (remove two small trees that had blown onto the lawn, with attendant vines still attached). I might pull the motor and ditch the rest of the saw.

I’ve gotten some good stuff from HF (a caliper, some micro screwdrivers, etc., but I’ll be buying American from now on.
