“Nobody - Tyson is responding to a handful of infections in their plants which is scaring the rest of the factory workers so they’re just not showing up. Nd why should they? They get paid more to be unemployed.”

Thanks, I figured the shutdowns weren’t Trump’s fault or part of a ‘grand conspiracy’ to ‘get Trump’. In fact, the shutdowns seem to be a reasonable response, given the spread of the virus. But I do wish that Tyson would have kept quiet, so that us non-FluBros could continue to stock up.

They get paid more to be unemployed.”

Some of us been pointing that out. Why go back to work when the money flowing from the government, via debt, is more than they make during normal times. TAKE away the bennies. No work, no pay. We are making do with one of us on furlough. Going outside, it looks like everyone is on vacation..biking, hiking, standing about chatting (separated), amazon making daily deliveries. Not a care in the world as long as “their lady” arrives the first of the month. I am aware of one very large physicians group that laid off 1500 people, most of them back office and assistant types, making a tad over $15 per hour. The wage continuation package is closer to $25. They are fretting they will not get anyone to come back if or when the money runs out and by then they will be closed permanently. I used to think we were smart not having debt. Now it seems the prevailing wisdom is why pay, just walk away...they cannot tow away everyone’s house or car or airplane if you are Delta as there is no where to put them.
