ah right. I was prescribed it for acid reflux at one point and it did help. And I was told it can be taken for long periods of time but eventually should check kidney labs. Another medical professional said shouldn’t take it for more than two weeks because it can cause kidney failure.
My own research seems to be varied depending on the patient really. Better for some than others I guess. I have a relative who HAD to take it for long periods because a bleeding esophagal ulcer.

I have bleeding ulcers too- Doc there told me I’d never be off PPI’s because of it- but my goodness- they never warned me it could cause kidney damage- that’s probably what is causing it- (I get a ton of kidney stones too- i had though maybe the stones were causing the damage- but now I’m not sure- i had never heard PPI’s could cause damage)

Uggh- don’t wanna go to docs now to find out if it’s from the PPI’s or not=- what with all the virus junk going around either-

The only one that helps my son is Dexilant. Insurance doesn’t like to cover it. There are no generics. But, it’s supposed to help when nothing else will. It releases in 2 parts apparently. An immediate dose, then the long acting part kicks in for the rest of the day.
