A major Chinese city has adopted draconian quarantine measures against the novel coronavirus after a new outbreak was detected there.
More than 70 people have been infected and over 4,000 are being tested in Harbin after the virus was believed to be 'imported' into the city by a student who had returned from New York, according to media reports.
Officials have banned gatherings and ordered communities to closely monitor non-local visitors and vehicles in the city of around 10 million.
Checkpoints have been installed at the airport and train stations, to screen those coming from elsewhere......
Before entering any public facilities and residential complexes, people must use a government-approved health app to prove they don't have the virus, have their temperature taken and wear a face mask, the notice says.
Residents must follow social-distancing measures. Weddings, funerals, public performances and conferences are banned.

i was reliably informed that *all* people entering China were strictly quarantined (at their own expense!) for 14 days before re-entering China.
Was I misinformed?

Anything coming out of China should be viewed skeptically. They gain from whipping up as much virus panic as possible hear.

Since this is from a source that does publish fake/sensationalist news-I doubt it is true-I don’t believe the Chicoms have gotten the Wuhan virus under any kind of control, and this is just an invention of their propaganda machine-but if it actually is true that a “student” from NY brought their virus right back to them-I would call that “poetic justice”...
China Sends $30 Million to W.H.O. After U.S. Freezes Funding
The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday it will donate another $30 million to the World Health Organization (W.H.O.), which is under growing scrutiny from member states for its poor handling of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic and its suspicious tendency to toe the political line from Beijing.
American taxpayers are far and away the most important funders of the W.H.O., having donated over $400 million last year, compared to China’s total of $86 million.
“China has decided to donate another $30 million in cash to the W.H.O., in addition to the previous donation of $20 million, to support the global fight against COVID-19 and strengthen developing countries’ health systems,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said at a press briefing.
Geng said the donation “reflects the support and trust of the Chinese government and people for W.H.O.”

Yep.... did the same couple of days ago at wally world looking for some zinc. Picked up the bottle, read where it was made (china), then proclaimed loud enough that the guy nearby heard me; “F**# that, prolly COVID in a bottle” to which he chuckled in acknowledgement.
Noone in their right mind should buy anything made in china from here on out.
