"The woman who heads the Maine Department of Labor said just that....if employees refuse to return to work they will lose their unemployment benefits."

I don't get it - how would they get unemployment benies if they're working??

One of thd stipulations is if you are still employed you can say you don’t want to work for fear of the virus and qualify for unemployment.

The employees were not working....they were laid off.

The head of the Maine Department of Labor said if laid-off employees were offered their jobs back, and they refused to return, at that point they would lose their unemployment benefits.
