I think the Iwo Jima is the same class of ships. There should have been one off shore of Libya during Bengazi. But B.O.hates our military.
The Iwo Jima was an LPH (LPH-2, to be exact); the LPHs didn’t have well decks. (The LPHs had also been decommissioned back in the 90s.)
If you’re talkin about lph-11 then you’re talkin about a ship that’s probably on the bottom of the ocean by now. Every lph I think is already sunk because they just got too old. The lha came afterwards and almost all of them have been sunk by now. The lhd which is what this ship is, it is the latest version of it in the last 40 years.
