Senate panel backs assessment that Russia interfered in 2016 (chaired by GOP Sen. Richard Burr of NC)

A bipartisan Senate report released Tuesday affirms the U.S. intelligence community’s conclusions that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election in a far-ranging influence campaign approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin and aimed at helping Donald Trump win the White House.

The report rejects Trump’s claims that the intelligence community was biased against him when it concluded that Russia had interfered on his behalf in the election. It says instead that intelligence officials had specific information that Russia preferred Trump in the election, that it sought to denigrate Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton and that Putin had “approved and directed aspects” of the Kremlin’s influence campaign.

The heavily-redacted report from the Senate Intelligence Committee is part of the panel’s more than three-year investigation into Russian interference.

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr, R-N.C., said in a statement that his panel “found no reason to dispute” the intelligence community’s conclusions, saying they reflected strong tradecraft and analytical reasoning.

yes they wanted Killary to win...aided and abetted her campaign. I’m sure the Russians wanted Jimmah Cartah to win over Ronald Reagan, too.

Burr sold a bunch of stock just before the market tanked this winter, after he received an intelligence briefing on COVID.

When Trump was asked about what looks like inside trading by Burr, Trump defended him. I heard it with my own ears.

Why does Trump keep appointing/standing up for trecherous corrupt establishment swamp-dwellers like Burr?

Trump hired so many nevertrumpers to fill his administration, you’d think it was really Jeb Bush who won the election.

Is Richard Burr being blackmailed by the deep state? Is that why knifes Trump by parroting the deep state line on Russiagate?

They may have tried to interfere and influence the election but if they did they did so without 'colluding' with the Trump campaign.

What Russia did had nothing to do with Trump.

He’s not being blackmailed by anyone.

How do you know? He looked pretty corrupt to me when he sold stocks before the crash. What other things has he done that didn’t come to the general public’s attention? Did news of this stock sale get out, as a warning to him?

Politics is the art of the possible. POTUS would act differently if the Tea Party was in charge of both houses of Congress. Right now, it’s not.

1. Interference does not equal collusion, but if Russia did indeed interfere...

2. ... Putin saved America. Thank you, Vlad.

Mark Warner, the Virginia liberal. was the real chair of this Committee. burr was and is worse than worthless. plus the timing of this is most suspect as Dunham prepares to indict Brennan. the “majority” republican staff of this Committee should be thrown out in its entirety; they have done NOTHING to investigate Brennan, Comey, Halper or the other crooks. They must be Bush leftovers from his idiotic Mideast war team.

Looking corrupt isn’t an indication of being blackmailed, but it is a strong indication of being an a-hole. In other words, he’s far more likely to be a blackmail-ER than a blackmail-EE.

There’s always a chance that you’re correct on this .... I just don’t happen to think so. I do think you’ve been right on most everything else you’ve posted, though.
