The NIH, et al, all already knew, from back in 2005:

TITLE: Chloroquine is a potent inhibitor of SARS coronavirus infection and spread
Now there is a reliable source. I will definitely take this to heart. NOT!!
I have seen that before.
Showing that a drug works in a certain way in cell culture is a far step from showing that it has therapeutic effect in humans. It only shows that there is a potential.
I used to grow cancer cells and then kill them with bleach. Bleach is 100% effective at killing cancer cells, in fact. I would never tout bleach as a cure for cancer, though.
I think there is certainly evidence to support clinical trials of chloroquine (hydroxychloroquine). I’m not ready to advocate its use in treatment until I see the results of those trials.
You do realize the study you referenced was done in a Petri dish? IOW, no humans were involved. IIRC this study also manipulated the concentration of Zinc in the solution, something which no human being can do internally.
But, of course you know all that because this isnt the first time I have pointed this out to you, IIRC.
