That’s fine, but as awareness of the importance of masks to reducing the spread of CV increases, folks who refuse to wear them may increasingly be denied service. Including no air travel, no entry to supermarkets, etc. Refusing to wear a mask in closed public places will be seen on a par with snotty coughing in public around people.
It’s easy to learn why. Just do a search. Here’s a new one, there are tons of articles every day about the connection between masks and public health during this pandemic.
“Coronavirus and face masks: numbers show the East has something to teach the West
“The lower death rate and fatality in East Asia and even in Western countries that made mask wearing compulsory should encourage people to overcome their antipathy towards face coverings”
According to my brother, who lives outside Toronto, Canada is not testing...at all. No $ and no capacity.

Tell me about it. I was thinking of the fact that Taiwan and Hong Kong have just as many people riding crowded trains and buses as New York City - yet zero spread now in Taiwan and very little spread in Hong Kong - and a grand total of 10 deaths in both countries combined.
The difference - masks. And like you say, as our ‘experts’ figure this out (takes them several months, usually, to figure out something staring them in the face), the requirement to wear masks in public will move forward, whether people here like it or not.
In a few months, world ‘experts’ will figure out is that even with masks the virus will still spread, but since people who do get sick with it get very small viral loads (such as Hong Kong and other Asian countries that use masks), their outcomes are much better than those exposed to much higher concentrations found without masks (such as NYC). The reason, of course, is that getting infected with a small load gives the body time to ‘prep’ for the upcoming battle - rather than having to rush into battle unprepared. But, again, they won’t figure that out until late July.
