How else would one interpret his presumptuous proclamation at his latest press conference?
What in hell (no pun intended) would prompt NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo to exclaim, in a most haughty manner, that in regard to "flattening the curve" (man, do I despise that term) "We brought the numbers down. God did not do that, faith did not do that..."? I mean, I realize that he ranks very high (top three by my calculations) on the list of America's most narcissistic public figures, but this is the next level arrogance.
If you think that this is even too much for even uber tyrant Emperor Andy, and need more proof, take a listen for yourself at the 42:25 mark of his presser posted on Facebook.
Now, I do realize that Cuomo is not the only government authority to downplay/marginalize/outright dismiss the role that religious faith, i.e. Christianity, plays in our society, and seems to almost revel in his ability to temporarily (?) lock down houses of worship. However, to the best of my knowledge, Governor "il Duce" is the only one to (in)directly blame a religious group for his state's COVID-19 outbreak: “It’s hard. But on the flip side, I say look what happened in New Rochelle. Those were religious gatherings,” the governor said, referring to the number of Wuhan coronavirus infections that occurred as a result of a gathering at a synagogue. “You worship the way you can, but the gatherings are just not a good idea."
As so aptly observed by Jonathon Van Maren at Lifesite News:

Who was it that said “Not even God can sink the Titanic”?
Every time that someone says that the government of NY can’t get any worse, they take it as a challenge.
Cuomo is a poster boy for hubris. NY state’s death rate is 813 per million population. That is a horrible worldwide outlier and double the rates of Spain and Italy; the next highest countries. Rather than taking credit he should be hanging his head, if anything.
There’s something odd about that NY death rate. It’s almost as if the NY bug is a different strain. Canada, which is close in population and diversity, has a death per million of 32. Germany is 49. Japan is an unbelievable 2.
Without NY, the US number per million would be 60. Without NY and NJ the US is like canada or Germany.
I have a co-worker a bit similar. Calls Jesus fantasy. God in Heaven the fake man in the sky. The guy has a nice little family, good decent job, computer talented and semi- pro wrestler fame in his city. Hes enjoying blessings from God and yet says these godless thoughts. Im praying he has a spiritual awakening and course correction from being a fool to a wise man. Same for Cuomo.
Obama: "You didn't build that, we the government did."
President Trump: "Give thanks to almighty God and the People who accomplished all this."
I know which one I want at the head of my Government...
One should never, ever tweak or challenge God.
I am also reminded of Daniel, chapter 4, verses 28 through 34.
Nebuchanezzer thought he had made Babylon a great thing, but the Lord warned him not to think that and to remember to give Him the glory. Ol’ Nebbie didn’t listen...and the Lord struck him with insanity and drove him out of the palace for 7 years.

My goodness, I can’t imagine Andrew Cuomo acting like an animal and eating grass in front of live TV!!
Who’s going to take his place while he is in that state? :)
In 1966 the Rutles faced the biggest threat to their careers. Nasty in a widely quoted interview had apparently claimed that the Rutles were bigger than God, and was reported to have gone on to say that God had never had a hit record.
The story spread like wildfire in America. Many fans burnt their albums, many more burnt their fingers attempting to burn their albums. Album sales skyrocketed, People were buying them just to burn them.
But in fact it was all a ghastly mistake. Nasty, talking to a slightly deaf journalist, had claimed only that the Rutles were bigger than Rod. Rod Stewart would not be big for another eight years, and certainly at this stage hadn’t had a hit. At a press conference, Nasty apologised to God, Rod and the Press, and the tour went ahead as planned. It would be the Rutles’ last.
Andrew Cuomo, must have a god complex. A regular modern day Ramsey. There is no place in government for one such as he.
