Fauci time and the Coronavirus vaccine; Anthony Fauci is delaying tests of the U.S. Coronavirus vaccine
American Thinker ^ | 04/17/2020 | Howard Richman

The American coronavirus vaccine’s Phase 1 clinical trials are bogged down. They began on March 3 and are not scheduled to end until June 1, 2021.

Why fifteen months for the first American vaccine’s clinical trials? The reason is simple. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of NIAID (National Institute of Allergy and Infections Diseases), is conducting them in Fauci Time.  (Fauci is also conducting the clinical trials to see if Remdesivir is effective against COVID-19 in Fauci Time – those trials are not scheduled to end until April 1, 2023.)

Normally, during a health emergency, the U.S. gets out a vaccine within months. Take the H1N1 (Swine Flu) pandemic of 2009. The CDC has published a timeline:

So, in 2009, the FDA started its clinical trials of a vaccine on July 22 and approved four vaccines seven weeks later. Meanwhile, in 2019, Fauci’s NIAID started its clinical trials on March 3 and plans to take 15 months to complete them.

U.S. regulations allow for two rapid approval processes for vaccines during a health emergency. One of them, called Accelerated Approval, is the process used to approve the H1N1 vaccines after less than two months of clinical trials. The other, called Emergency Use Authorization, is the process used to approve the anthrax vaccine so that it could be administered to the soldiers invading Iraq.

In the Accelerated Approval process, a single clinical trial phase determines whether the vaccine is safe and whether it creates the required antibodies. In vaccine terminology, these pathogen-specific antibodies are considered to be a “surrogate endpoint,” permitting the vaccine to be approved for use without field studies.

The following are among the successful vaccines approved through the Accelerated Approval process:

On March 3, 2020, Dr. Fauci first came into conflict with President Trump. The issue was how long it would take to get out a vaccine. Here’s the CNN report:

Trump was asked about a timeline for a vaccine during the Cabinet Room meeting with pharmaceutical executives and members of his task force.

“I don't know what the time will be. I've heard very quick numbers, that of months. And I've heard pretty much a year would be an outside number. So I think that's not a bad range. But if you're talking about three to four months in a couple of cases, a year in other cases,” Trump said.

But Dr. Antony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, immediately corrected the President: “Let me make sure you get the ... information. A vaccine that you make and start testing in a year is not a vaccine that's deployable.”

As Fauci explained the timeline, Trump folded his arms.

Fauci said: “So he's asking the question -- when is it going to be deployable? And that is going to be, at the earliest, a year to a year and a half, no matter how fast you go.”

Trump should have asked him for how long he’s been working on an AIDS vaccine. That would have ended the discussion.

This PIAPS-loving, little weasel played a BIG part of this release.
IF the truth were known, he’d be locked up in GITMO.

Dear Mr. President: Fauci has to go or at least be rendered irrelevant. You know it, I know it ... hell, anyone who has been following this over the past six weeks knows it. ... So get on with it ... please.

will see if fauci has an agenda... he’s a democrat...and even if he might not... the dems will use him and he won’t have a choice... but he may do it on his own... i just do not trust him.. never did.. they turn on a dime and show who they are. and if i’m wrong..

That is why I laughed at Faucets comments a week or two ago about we can’t go back to normal until we have a vaccine. Stay at home for 30 years isn’t viable.

Precisely. There is no guarantee that we’ll have a vaccine in 12 months. Or 18. Or 30 years. Or ever.

It’s not something you can just pull out of your ass.

Herd immunity is coming, whether Dr. Tony likes it or not.

There is a huge difference here. We have decades of experience creating flu vaccines and are able to approve them quickly because any new vaccine is really just a tweak of an existing vaccine.

There is no FDA approved vaccine for a coronavirus. There was some work on a SARS vaccine, but it never went very far because SARS was successfully eradicated. There is a cat coronavirus vaccine, but questions about its efficacy remain. This means that any previous experience with a coronavirus vaccine is very preliminary, since we have no established vaccine to tweak for the present pandemic virus.

Considering that the normal approval process for any drug (including vaccines) requires a minimum of ten years but can easily take twenty or more, this one is being pushed through extremely rapidly.

Making an effective vaccine is a tad more complicated than just deactivating a virus and popping it into some sterile buffer.

If a vaccine does mysteriously appear in the near future
it’s most likely:

- Dangerous, or
- a Placebo, and
- A total CYA face-saving measure

Per it’s top infectious disease doctor South Korea will have a vaccine ready in three or four months.

Don't worry about a "vaccine".

1-It may never come.

2-It may not be a "vaccine" just like the "Flu Vaccine" is NOT a "vaccine".

3-We need TESTING and wide availability of TREATMENT, like HCQ.

4-If we wait 12-18 months for a "vaccine" it will be too late to save the U.S. and global economy.

I was wondering about that, the UPMC vaccine out of Pittsburgh looks like it is languishing.

Good call. Although this particular one probably isn’t the actual MOB, it sure does set the stage for conditioning people to accept it when it does come.

If UPMC's research abilities matched their PR abilities there'd be no more disease on this planet.

Counterpoint: The process Sanofi Pasteur is using is the same process that was approved for their flu vaccine. It can't infect anyone with coronavirus (or the flu), since they infect an insect cell culture with an insect virus which has been genetically modified to produce CV19 antigens.

Therefore, the "safety" question should be essentially already answered by their flu vaccine approval. What's left is the "efficacy" question. Does it take a year to determine whether the vaccine is efficacious, and efficacious against the most prevalent strains of CV19, and then to ramp up production?

Oh ok, so I’m sure you’d rather have the PRC jab that is in stage 2 clinical trials...
