So true. Georgia population 10.5 million. Deaths from covid 19 600. What’s wrong with that picture?

So many people do not understand the concept of risk mitigation.
*********
Their problem is that the extreme mitigation is not justified by the risk. This disease is far from a dangerous national threat. The greatest risk is to people in the most densely populated areas who have underlying conditions. Most people who get it recover in about two weeks, with some showing few or no symptoms. We can help the most vulnerable without shutting down the productive, tax paying activity that is supporting our care system.

Yes, young and healthy people are the least likely to die, but they can and do die from Covid-19.

Also, how do you propose protecting the most vulnerable while allowing the others to go about their normal activities? Are you going to imprison in a "safe" area all of those who have comorbities or are above a certain age? Is that even feasible? I'm thinking that by the time everyone above a certain age or who has comorbities is imprisoned, we've locked up half or more of the American population. What economic effect is THAT going to cause?

I'm of the opinion that whoever came up with this scheme to encourage disease spread among those least likely to die did not think things through completely. Personally, I don't want to be a prisoner just because I'm a cancer survivor. I'd much rather we make the effort to eradicate Covid-19 so that in the future, no one will have to worry about it.

Re: NYC and hotspots.

Look where the Chinese went.

That explains the hotspots and subsequent migration of the WuhanVirus.

Exactly. China was shutting down their cities, while they were complaining that countries that wanted to ban Chinese entering their countries, were ‘xenophobic’.
