Way back in the 60’s Pearl was the same down here in Texas. When I was in Vietnam (65 ~ 66). We got a lot of Anchor beer, distinctive by the rust buildup along the seams. Cans didn’t seem to fare very well in the holds of cargo ships. Anyway, we mainly drank Bamiba and Beer LaRue. Supposedly had fluoride in them, couldn’t say. But, I’m 75 and still alive is all I know 🥴...

In the 60's such ads were placed all over NYC on the busses and subways. Featuring someone who obviously didn't look Jewish. Normal level headed people saw it as a clever witty ad campaign and nothing more.
