Dunno.
If they had side effects they would probably quit taking them. But if most of the populace is on them then there are not so many people who can be transmission vectors for the virus. It’s like an artificially created herd immunity.

If you look at my posting history, you will find that I have been advocating ramping up hydroxychloroquine production domestically and striving for just that (starting with medical and elder care workers) since late February.

Chloroquine has some bad side effects.

HYDROXYchloroquine, not so much...

People who want the world depopulated and the Orange Man Bad out deliberately conflate the two drugs.

As do their unwitting dupes.
