April 15 (UPI) -- The IRS rolled out a new tool Wednesday that allows Americans to check the status of their stimulus payments, and tens of millions are expected to have their money by the end of the day.
The agency launched the "Get My Payment" web page, where Americans can track their payments by entering tax return information for either 2018 or 2019.
The U.S. Treasury began depositing the payments electronically last Friday. The first recipients are eligible U.S. taxpayers who filed a tax return for either of the last two years. For those, the funds will automatically appear in their bank accounts for the next few weeks.

Probably either one would do. Try it.
Thanks. Thats what I did and to answer my own question, I entered my husbands Social Security number and it got the routing number etc. said successful.
So then I decided to try my social Security number to be sure I got a check and it said that it was on file already and would be deposited to the bank account which was the right number. So just one of you has to enter the information if you file together.
Glad it worked.
Yep, same thing. Now, IIRC, the idea was to encourage quick spending to jump-start the economy...
Thanks and I understand their REASONING (DC reasoning?) but wouldn’t we seniors be spending the money we’ve always spent from our SS benefits for those things.
I’d happily stop grumbling and spend it if I could find someone to cut my husband’s and my own hair and my husband’s toenails. That’s disregarding the “kind” advice given by a FReeper who insisted that THEY will come to us in our home!
Sure seeing a lot of women on TV whose hair isn’t being done at all - Judge Jeanine a good example. EXCEPT today I turned on Outnumbered and saw Marie Harf who has had a total makeover - no colored frame glasses, in fact NO GLASSES, blonde hair soft, longer and flowing. I thought it was her but waited for her to speak before I was sure. No way to mistake that voice.
That’s what I got, too.
Use mobile deposit via your bank’s phone app. You’ll get to make the deposit and keep the check =).
That is what the site says about ours, but they REMOVED the tax payment this am. LOL
Good morning.
Im not having any luck on that web site. It just says it cannot determine my eligibility.
Now, ive never received a tax refund, but I do receive SS payments directly deposited to my bank account. I do file a tax return every year, but not yet for 2019. Should that information not be sufficient? Has anyone else here received the cannot determine eligibility message?
Any help or suggestions appreciated.
I’ve been getting the same message the last few days.
I’m trying it today/tomorrow and if nothing changes I guess I’ll sacrifice an hour Monday and call them.
Thanks. Is your situation similar to mine?
Is there a help line phone number to call? I didnt see one on the web site.
Our situations sound very similar.
I haven[t spent any effort figuring out how to call yet.
The application I sent for my business took two weeks before it funded and so I guess they’re overloaded but I know some people have started to get their deposits.
“Payment Status Not Available: According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time.”
Professionally prepared tax return each and every year for over the last 12 years. Direct Deposit as soon as it became available.
Then I can’t log into the IRS site because it wants me to re-verify and then subsequently says my information is wrong, when the same info has worked year after year.
You know, I thought nothing could be as bad as the Obamacare rollout, but apparently Mnuchin said, “Hold my beer”..
It IS the IRS and they are not exactly on our side, are they?
Not blaming Mnuchin for this. He should say “Jump” and they should say “Yes, sir. How high, sir?” They would prefer to screw it up.
I heard Mnuchin say that the other day. Thats the only time frame Ive been able to verify. Ppl who get refunds got theirs already but we always owe so the IRS doesnt have my banking info. Were on SS but hubby is still working and we always file. We just dont fit into any of the scenarios that I keep reading about, which is frustrating.
Any changes? Im still getting cannot determine eligibility.
We file a tax return every year through 2018, but never a refund
Our SS payments are direct deposited.
We are eligible according to our income
I dont understand why they cant determine eligibility.
I wrote to my representative today. Hes an R and we live in a bright red district so im hoping for some help.
we’re still unstimulated
I’ve heard the same thing from a number of people.
I’ll try to call on Monday and let you know if I find out anything.
Thanks and good luck, FRiend!
