How did the tick-borne bacteria get from plum island to KY?

At first migratory birds it is thought. Now they travel on deer and wild life and are spreading across the eastern coast. Right now it is as far as the Tennessee border. We can only hope that the strains change with time, but it is estimated that 300,000 a year are affected. In my case a single tiny bite with a seed tick the size of a large grain of sand gave me the telltale purple bullseye bite. Only 40٪ of people display the bullseye rash. Flu like symptoms, malaise, neck cramps, chronic fatigue are common symptoms.
