On Jan 21 there were 248 cases in China and zero cases in the US. So at that time there was no threat to the US.
The threat happened weeks later when we got cases in the US and it started to spread.
Problem is the left is doing monday morning quarter backing. They are telling us with everything they know today, they would do things differently and that Trump is a giant Dumb dumb for allowing the virus to spread.
They even as far saying his travel ban in January didn’t go far enough, yes the same people who called him a racist are saying President Trump wasn’t racist enough in January.
That is why people are posting Fauci’s quotes. He is monday morning quarterbacking the entire thing claiming he wanted to do things differently while at the time he was saying something totally different.
These quotes are fair in that context.
Of course the site doesn’t give the following statement uttered by the Fauci.

There must’ve been cases in the U.S. already, most likely on the west coast where Chinese typically enter the country. They just didn’t know what it was. They got through it first, and now are doing well — way ahead of the rest of the country. Herd immunity was happening and they didn’t know it. No drama. No masks. No Christians persecuted. No law-abiding Americans held prisoners in their own homes.
