Fauci went out on
January 21 and said the virus posed no threat to Americans “at this time.”
Did he mean that it posed no threat because it wasn’t circulating in our communities yet? Or did he mean that it was never going to be a threat to Americans?
I’m pretty sure he meant the former, not the latter.
I would say about 60% chance he was complicit in the statement and 40% that he was “tricked” or manipulated into saying it. The entire statement was not nearly as bad as that sound bite. But that is the way the gotcha game is played. You live by the sound bite or die by it. Trump has dodged it over and over, but he is a pro.
