Indians routinely take HCQ, as malaria is common there.

This would make a lot of sense particularly if coronavirus was created in a lab. All the anecdotal evidence suggests that hyrdroxychloroquine is effective and that little else is known about the virus origins.

If it really came from bats or wolf pups, people have been in contact with and studied both species for years.

We should be getting far closer to a cure or at least a vaccine. But we keep coming back to hyrdroxychloroquine.

Actually native East Indians and Africans don’t take quinine, only foreign residents and tourists do. I think there are blood adaptations that help prevent malaria. I do know of native Africans and Indians who have suffered malaria anyway, which is why the NGO’s and government push for mosquito screens for beds, draining stagnant water etc.

I have family who lived in Pune, India for several years (NW of Bombay) and they never had to take malaria medication. Malaria is actually a problem in only a quarter of the country. The drug is probably available everywhere, but is taken only in areas where the mosquitoes are known to be prevalent, usually in the rainy season.
