Why? I guess there's a transatlantic cultural difference here. It's just not customary in the UK for details of the medical treatment of anybody, however much of a celebrity or however significant a figure, to be published. It's seen essentially as a confidential matter between doctor and patient: so in the case of a public figure, all you'll ever hear is a general statement about their condition.
Yeah, why should anyone who would kill beautiful child give a hoot about some wrinkly, smelly old dudes like us..??
