Grassfire reports:
"According to data obtained from the CDCs National Center for Health Statistics Mortality Surveillance System website, total U.S. deaths for the first three weeks of March are DOWN 10% from the average of the prior four years for the same three week period.
The average for weeks 9 through 11 for the four prior years was a total of 170,555 deaths. For weeks 9 through 11 this year, the total is 153,015, meaning 17,540 fewer people died in America during the first three weeks of March than could be reasonably expected. And the gap between historic deaths and weekly deaths is widening. For week 11, just 47,655 Americans died, 8,773 and 15% fewer than the average for week 11 in the prior four years. And while data on week 12 is not complete, it is trending similar to week 11 and will likely be down by 15% (around 8,700 deaths less than expected) even though 1,919 COVID-19 deaths were reported (in week beginning 3/22)."
Now after deaths for the entire month of March are reported, the results show that deaths in the US this March are 15% less than the average of the past four years!

U have to wonder who they were before

Thank you for posting.
Are the numbers corrected every month?
I know they are government workers and an election is coming...
Less arguments and fist fights due to coved-19; all virtual now.
A good read, comments included.
Thank you.
A glance at the “news” headlines and I was certain the Four Horsemen were in the street!
In a year or so, deep in a geeky journal, valid numbers will be published.
Guessing there is no giant spike upwards.
The virus is real and most dangerous to the old and infirm.
Stay healthy.
How Honest Is Our Covid Fatality Count? Take Minnesota As a Disturbing Example 4/8/2020, 8:58:22 PM · by SeekAndFind · 30 replies Powerline Blog ^ | 04/08/2020 | John Hinderaker Dr. Scott Jensen is both a physician and a Minnesota state senator. Yesterday he was interviewed by a local television station and dropped a bombshell: he, and presumably all other Minnesota doctors, got a seven-page letter from the Minnesota Department of Health that gave guidance on how to classify COVID-19 deaths. The letter said that if a patient died of, e.g., pneumonia, and was believed to have been exposed to COVID-19, the death certificate should say that COVID-19 was the cause of death even though the patient was never tested, or never tested positive, for that disease.
that the CDC allows some leeway in assigning the cause of death: COVID-19 should be reported on the death certificate for all decedents where the disease caused or is assumed to have caused or contributed to death [emp. by CDC]. the rules for coding and selection of the underlying cause of death are expected to result in COVID-19 being the underlying cause more often than not. (https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvss/coronavirus/Alert-2-New-ICD-code-introduced-for-COVID-19-deaths.pdf)
Dr. Anthony Fauci... admitted that seven out of eight deaths attributed to the virus were really caused by one or more other comorbidities. In other words, the patient was on deaths door whether the virus got to them or not.
Dr. Deborah Birx, who everybody seems to like because she dresses so well, admitted those death totals are inflated as a matter of policy.
The federal government is classifying the deaths of patients infected with the coronavirus as COVID-19 deaths, regardless of any underlying health issues that could have contributed to the loss of someones life.
Dr. Deborah Birx, the response coordinator for the White House coronavirus task force, said the federal government is continuing to count the suspected COVID-19 deaths, despite other nations doing the opposite.
There are other countries that if you had a pre-existing condition, and lets say the virus caused you to go to the ICU [intensive care unit] and then have a heart or kidney problem, she said during a Tuesday news briefing at the White House. Some countries are recording that as a heart issue or a kidney issue and not a COVID-19 death.
The intent is
if someone dies with COVID-19, we are counting that, she added. - https://thehayride.com/2020/04/confirmed-theyre-inflating-wuhan-virus-death-rates-nationally/
The same issue is related to the number of deaths in Italy which is attributed to Covid-19. According to Prof Walter Ricciardi, scientific adviser to Italys minister of health:
On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity - many had two or three, he says. (Why have so many coronavirus patients died in Italy (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/have-many-coronavirus-patients-died-italy/)
I found this article too. By the way, this type of information is incredibly hard to find. On two or three occasions I have searched on “US Deaths by month” or something similar, without a satisfactory result. What’s wrong with our search engines? What’s wrong with government records? Like Joe Friday, I just want the facts, but they are hard to come by.
The article lists its source as the CDC. I too found the CDC website to be the most promising source of information. However once you get there they offer a myriad of analyses on every topic under the sun. It really takes some digging and I gave up more than once.
The Gateway Pundit deserves a great deal of credit for the work they’ve done. However it is impossible to share their link widely. They have too much opinion and two many political side stories, to be given credence by the general public.
I hope the CDC prepares a simple chart or graph. Total Deaths by month. January deaths by year in one chart. February deaths by year in another graph, etc. This can be also be done again expressed relative to population. Very simple stuff if you have the underlying data, which they seem to have.
