You can see in the graph that the flu season has a longer duration than CCP-19, so far The graph accounts for the flu deaths you mention over time.
People are dying much faster within a shorter period of time with CCP-19 as illustrated.
Morale to the graph- It’s not the flu.

I don't see how we get to 34,000 deaths for 2018 on that curve, nor get why people insists why all virus have to have the same symptoms to compare ( flu's) ... of course every virus is different... but no way are we going to get to 2 million, as was the reason we shut down and these same experts are now tells its better to starve . So if we plot deaths on a log scale its not so steep why don't they plot on log scales? why? because math curves wont seem so scary on a log scale but that's always used for exponential growth and is normal, and if 2018 were plotted to 34,000 it would be steep too. This virus may grow to 100,000 in USA , 3 times that of a normal virus year and but that's far shy of chickens falling out of the sky 2 million ..
