“ They won’t be hurt as they will cut their costs down to balance out their profit margin.”

They will be hurt immensely guaranteed. Just wait until they release earnings. There sales are going to fall dramatically as people are not going to stand in line waiting to get into wall mart in numbers enough to support stores of their size. They have already lost huge ground to Amazon and this is only going to greatly further the damage.

There has also been an increase in businesses like Grubhub. But the question as to whether they will get hammered on non-food items is based upon the amount sold. And
Walmart is notorious for scheduling only the people they want to handle the intake. They won’t get hurt too much in lost sales as they will cut costs. I’ve seen them do it.

And another thing they will do is send out their comparison shoppers to buy related items they can sell so they will be the only game in town that may have any quantity of it. In 1995. there was a big freeze in Tacoma, and their shoppers were sent out to purchase every cylinder of gas they could find. They drained every major competition in town and sold a huge amount of gas stoves, lanterns, and everything that required gas marking it up to cover the profit margin from the retail purchase. But they had them.

According to their website, They have already doubled their net profit from 2019.

Walmart annual net income for 2020 was $14.881B, a 123.1% increase from 2019.
Walmart annual net income for 2019 was $6.67B, a 32.37% decline from 2018.

They play monopoly with real money.
