Wake up Americans! We are by nature a civil and law-abiding people, but what we are being subjected to is monstrous. As VDH reminded, 740 people die in California each day for a vast variety of causes. The virus has upped that number by four people a day. California has a population of forty million people. Is that a viable justification for destroying the livelihoods of multi-millions which will no doubt lead to far more death and destruction?
Drs Fauci and Birx may be experts in their fields but their fields are not economics nor the preservation of the nation. Both of them see this pandemic through a very narrow lens. Both of them downplayed the danger of this virus until mid-January, but we are now hostage to their models. Their models are like climate change models, loaded with bias and speculation. They are relatively meaningless and yet we have shuttered the business of the United States because of their guesswork!
It is time for President Trump to utilize his uncommon common sense and put a stop this China-orchestrated full-scale attack on our country. Easter Sunday would the perfect day to set the nation free from the madness this particular virus has perpetrated on us all. President Trump, let those with compromised immune systems self-quarantine and set the rest of the population free to get back to work. You can do it. Do it now.

You are wise to realize this isn’t the “flu”. There are many clueless people here.
I have shared this story a few times but I will do it again and maybe some people will get some education.
To make a very long story short;
Almost three years ago my healthy adult son ended up in the hospital for double pneumonia that was not responding to normal antibiotics. He hadn’t seen a doctor for years. No issues.
Since then he has spent nearly 300 days in the hospital. Six sessions in the ICU. Twice on life support. Many times they took lung tissue samples and sent them to labs around the country including the CDC. Nobody has ever been able to identify it
He got pneumonia twice while in the hospital for pneumonia but they were able to identify it and treat it quickly.
Just like with the Spanish Flu he had major problems with the complications caused by the cytokine storm syndrome.
I could go on for hours but it would do no good. You either understand it or you don’t.
For those of you who think this is “just the flu” I hope you educate yourselves.

The country cannot be held hostage over what is happening in a few areas, using projections of what may happen based on models that thus far are proving inaccurate, for the most part. They’re projections...the country is not monolithic...population density, adherence to guidance, societal norms all differ from state to state...leave it up to the local areas or state governors to do what’s best for their respective areas. The military can do what’s best for them based on their location and mission.
And yet the $3 Trillion question remains - can a lasting immunity be gained from experiencing the virus? Or are we fated as a species to see round after round of this disease?
I’m sorry for your son’s condition and experience, but there are 330 million people in the country who will have different experiences.
Even if he did, the damage is done and the Govenors wont comply.

I respect biblical prophesy and this pandemic is a first to anyone thats been alive for 70 or so years but pandemics are nothing new to humanity. Are you sure that this is the big one? In my lifetime of 50 years ive heard enumerable predictions about end times backed up by “irrefutable” evidence that confirmed biblical prophecy.

This would seem to assume that many in the military who catch it will die, or become permanently unfit for service. There is absolutely no basis for this.

The flu infection rate is based on massive numbers of people coming in with symptoms and getting typed. The hospitalization rate is a small subset. Tests are ubiquitous and available everywhere.
Wuhan is new and there were no tests for it until the last two months. The tests are extremely hard to come by and only the CDC had them until about a month and a half ago. New tests are still extremely rare as they ramp up production.
People who get Wuhan and have a serious health problem “from it” go to the hospital and get typed for Wuhan from a rare test. Over 50% of the people with Wuhan in hospitals have three or more deadly serious health issues already and these also make up the majority of the eventual dead, according to Italy’s doctors. Until two weeks ago, only THREE people died in all of Italy who had no prior known deadly level of other chronic disease.
The believed infection rate is at least 80-90% greater than the numbers that show in a hospital. The vast majority of these didn’t even think they had Wuhan, so to know, they need an antibody test. These peoples’s blood, of which there are great many, could be used to cure everyone in the hospital.
You are using numbers that are extremely inaccurate and even 28% of known positives are not in hospitals.
Wuhan is appearing to be, from the random tests given in South Korea to the general population for a study, to be a less than 0.3% actual death rate. Their listed death rate on COVID maps only includes positives from actual testing done, rather than their statistical sample of the population. They did antibody tests.
That same rate will hold here.
If we pronounce anyone who has so much as a booger in their nose to be CV infected, we can really terrify the Nation. Aaaaand...we can stretch the Stay at Home cofinement until November 4th or later. Maybe THAT will get rid of this horrid Orange Man!
P.S. I’ve seen no forklifts doing ANYthing. Wouldn’t it be a hoot if those refrigerated semi-trailers sitting there in NYC were EMPTY like the hospital ships are? Window dressing to scare the bejabbers out of us deplorables? How do we know we (including our POTUS) aren’t being played here? Afterall; this is the bunch who recently put our POTUS an us through a totally phony, BS impeachment charade! This is sinister!

I’ve seen two stories. One from an eye witness video. Another from a nurse at a Brooklyn hospital.
One thing that hasn't made sense to me throughout this global episode is why are the at-risk groups (elderly, comorbids) the ones presently most effected? (Medical care, hospitalization, ICU, fatalities and/or recoveries.)
That is, how did CV seem to skip/pass over the millions/billions of active, working adults who are/were interacting with a like number of people 24/7 as they went about their daily work/personal lives? Or, for that matter with respect to the millions/billions of school children, sitting/playing with hundreds of other children each day?
Current government policies assume that these two groups - those not currently experiencing the type of impact as the at-risk - are next. That is, the at risk are the canaries. But, how did that happen? How were the elderly, infirm and unhealthy able to contract CV before everyone else?
So, here's the 64k question: what if the at risk are actually the caboose? Example: Grandad in a nursing home/hospital is visited by kids, grandkids for his birthday? Doesn't that order make more sense?
Stop the insane overreaction to this virus. It is truly insane to close down the county, pit neighbor against neighbor, screw-up the country’s finances and so forth...just because some people are dieing. People die every day...more people die from other things than this virus. The leftists are licking their chops at the prospect of humbling this country and bringing down President Trump. I find this both disturbing and disgusting. President Trump: Lead us out of this leftist magnified insanity!!! Do it quickly...do it NOW!
We are close. After the next week we can see if other cities are on a track like NY or not. Currently I don’t see it. Potentially in a couple cities. Even NY is not above hospital capacity yet, but is close.
If not, after Easter weekend Trump needs to start leading the recovery. People need to remain local but we have to get people easing back to work. Offices with more social distancing and one on one trades like hair and nails need to reopen. People who can should still work at home. Those with high risk or who live with high risk or with babies should be exempt. This can not sustain itself past late April as is.
