The death rate for working class whites has been rising significantly over the past twenty years, along with the illegitimacy rate.

And elite liberals go oh, you’re racist bigots and everything wrong with society. Shut up and go to the back of the welfare line. Don’t vote for us? You’re voting against your best interests ...

Never mind they had jobs and intact families thirty years ago.

The free traitors don’t care as long as they can get wealthy in the process.

"What can a 15-year-old stripper in Kentucky tell you about China?"

Fantastic headline. I am using that for my next office powerpoint.

This may come as a shock to you, buy following the civil war lots and lots of CW veterans become drug addicts to deal with the pain of their war injuries.

The Civil War (1861-1865) has long been blamed as the catalyst for the spread of drug addiction in America.

I use to buy work boots from Mason shoe company because they made comfortable boots that held up well. I didn’t mind paying more for them and they were guaranteed to last longer the the soles. Finally they went and moved the manufacturing to China and the quality fell off, but the pricing did not. Why would I buy a Chinese made boot from them for $120 when I can by a Chinese made boot for $50 and cut out the middleman? MAMA

Seems like we’re living the last stanza of “The Gods of the Copybook Headings”... by Kipling.

“And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!”

A devastatingly excellent read. Thank you.

And by the way, did you know a FReeper named Buckhead?

I learned recently that more than half of all Americans have <$1,000 saved and somewhere around at leak $20,000, if not $200,000 in credit card debt (multiple cards).

One time a few years ago, when I was shopping at “China Mart,” I saw a conversation between a mother and her young son, who wanted a little thing of yogurt. She told. Him to put it back because they couldn’t afford it.

Yeah, but what happened to the girl.

If she succeeded in getting off crank, her rewired brain probably turned her into a fat blimp. The other story is what happened to the boy that would have dated her had everything been normal? For every girl cheated out of her childhood, there's probably a boy cheated out of his.

I disagree. If a light bulb costs a dollar to produce with a labor cost of 25 cents , and the manufacturing is moved to China, with a labor cost of a dime, does the price fall??
No, the price remains the same.
Again, it’s all about greed.

If you need to kill a few hours get out a pen and paper and try to name one good thing that comes from China. Fireworks don't count. 😆

In pursuit of new wisdom, “[we seek] a truth that will help us deny our limited creature nature and exalt us for our mental or physical or moral prowess. Truth, that, supposedly none has known or seen before – these ideas change and pass like women’s clothing fashions.”

Our desire to defy nature, conquer natural law and evolve toward a state greater than our flawed humanity brings advancement, but leaves us susceptible for manipulation by the Gods of the Marketplace. In time, understanding of natural law is replaced by worship of marketplace ideas, education, entertainment, and even religion, which are ultimately superficial and therefore short-lived.

Entire power structures from kingdoms to civilizations have been built and lived with these marketplace ideas as their foundation. As time cycles, favoring one power structure for another, death and destruction follow the failure of these marketplace ideas and humanity painfully realizes old truths, or natural law, out lives social, government or man-made promises.

When these Gods of government, religion and civilization fail, we are left with the violence of natural law and human nature, which is not kind, good, fair or evil; it just is.

I completely yanked and pasted the prior post from a blog. It was the authors take on Kiplings “Gods of the Copybook Headings”.

I am reminded of an oft quoted turn from Walt Kelley,

Traces of nobility, gentleness and courage persist in all people, do what we will to stamp out the trend. So, too, do those characteristics which are ugly. It is just unfortunate that in the clumsy hands of a cartoonist all traits become ridiculous, leading to a certain amount of self-conscious expostulation and the desire to join battle.

There is no need to sally forth, for it remains true that those things which make us human are, curiously enough, always close at hand. Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tinny blast on tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us.

Forward!

In hindsight, what was that 15yo girl supposed to do? In 2020, there’s no social anything in Bumfuck, America.

There are few factories where men—her potential suitors—could have stable jobs.

There’s no energy moving into those communities; nothing new is on the horizon.

We cannot continue down this path.

It’s time to move manufacturing back to America.

Trump was keeping his promises to change that. Its what made him the target and us with him.

How many here knew a good chunk of the Italian clothing industry was taken over by the Chinese until the virus hit Italy?

I confess, it was news to me.
