This is how Taiwan has kept a lid on this thing. Quarantine-ees are given ankle bracelets.

They also have like a $10K fine for breaking quarantine.

Quarantine laws, just like this one, have been around for hundreds of years. They are extensively adjudicated juris prudence. In this country. Formerly they’d have just put the reprobate in jail for the duration.

In some states, breaking a lawful quarantine directive from the health official is a felony.

Absolutely, this is traditional quarantine practice at work. This is not a violation of any kind of freedom or democracy. This is no different than jury duty or the draft in wartime. Staying quarantined when infected is one of the few duties a citizen has in a free country.

The idea of making healthy people stay at home or shutting down businesses is a completely different animal. That is a new, radical idea that is unproven, untested and most likely unconstitutional.
