We should make our own masks.
Lets Make America Great Again.

If the Chinese have a good idea, we should use it. And not just China. Its all of Asia Japan, Korea, etc. Tons of people wear masks. Nowadays everyone.

Maybe that’s why their coronavirus problems are far far less than in the west. Take Japan. It’s got 50% more people than Germany. But its got only 1/30th of their coronavirus cases. Yet Tokyo is one of the most crowded cities in the world. Look at photos of the Tokyo subway nowadays. Everyone’s got a mask.

My hubby and I we got 9 kids. Five days ago, he minded the kids, while I made masks for the family. All I needed was about 30 feet of duct tape, 80 rubber bands, 11 socks, and 3 dozen plastic straws. Total.

I didn’t wait for the CDC, GE, and GM.
But do I confess that I did not get proper FDA, OSHA, DOD, or BlahBlahBlah approvals.

So man up. Make your own.

“Been wondering what the dang hold is myself. Healthcare workers, vunerable folks, or anyone being health conscious in unavoidable essentials should not have to struggle for this stuff at all let alone weeks on end during a pandemic.”

No kidding - and by leveling with the people, they might just find some very creative ideas popping up. Right now, those people are being told that their services aren’t needed.

I get the impression they are making it up as they go along.

Just like our congress does. they never do anything proactively. Always reactive.

My word, it’s abundantly clear by now that this thing is NOWHerE near what they originally were predicting yet they keep acting, instead of being 10 times less deadly that their original projections, that it’s 10 times worse.

Instead, the recommendation under consideration calls for using do-it-yourself cloth coverings, according to a second official who shared that thinking on a personal Facebook account. It would be a way to help “flatten the curve,” the official noted.

How would putting some rag over my face which does not filter out viruses help "flatten the curve"?

Maybe we should just gargle with coffee.

The benefits of wearing masks is just staggeringly obvious.

Our Surgeon General lost ALL credibility immediately when he came out with the totally ridiculous “masks don’t work”.

The video Travis posted clearly shows how many viral particles are put out even by talking. And sneezing or coughing without covering is 1000X worse.

Since the virus particles can live in the air up to 3 hours, the only way to reduce the spread is for EVERYONE to wear masks while outside of the house.

The Czech Republic is doing this - and like every other country that is mandating masks, their CV19 infection curve is infinitely flatter than the countries who have not mandated masks. Chris Martenson (Peak Prosperity guy) has an excellent chart in one of his recent videos comparing the growth curve of the “no masks” countries (explosive growth) to the “masks required” countries (much slower growth).

It’s really a total no-brainer..they only told us “masks don’t work” because they didn’t have enough.

It can still filter out viruses contained in much larger water droplets, such as from coughing or sneezing. Better than nothing!

Possibly the best comment I have seen so far.

The “Experts” are all over the news every day telling us why we should not wear face masks and gloves when we go out in public.

But reasons they give would also apply to the groups they think should wear them.
Or do they think we are the only people who might touch our faces after touching a possibly contaminated item?

Reminds me how democrats with armed security are always lecturing us on why we don’t need guns to protect ourselves.

And how wealthy democrats living safely within fenced and gated properties tell us how fences don’t work and call us racist xenophobes for supporting president Trump’s border fence construction.

That’s the graph!

Totally impossible for anyone to say that “masks don’t work” (for the public) when every country that is using masks has significantly lower growth curves than the countries who don’t.

It’d be nice if the .gov would just own up to it. They (Surgeon General specifically) tried telling us this total BS only because there weren’t enough masks to go around. Now, they have to..er..”re-consider”..their earlier recommendation.

I thought only Democrats pulled this type of nonsense? Disappointed to see it from our own side..

Now I regret chucking my ski-goggles when I quit downhill skiing in my 50’s. Those goggles protected me from the cold air blast. Yeah, I would say your sister was well protected.

I read some good news for me: (LOL)
“It is not chronological age alone that determines how one does in the face of a life-threatening infection such as Covid-19,” cautioned geriatrician and gerontologist George Kuchel of the University of Connecticut. “Having multiple chronic diseases and frailty is in many ways as or more important than chronological age. An 80-year-old who is otherwise healthy and not frail might be more resilient in fighting off infection than a 60-year-old with many chronic conditions.” Reason: He may have a younger immune system.”

"Have they considered the fact that a considerable portion of our society won’t keep these things clean and will accumulate huge concentrations of virus in their masks?"

Like the doctors and nurses wearing the same dirty mask for a week and complaining about lack of new throwaways? That's a whole lot of pride behind rejecting locally made cloth masks.

And ah, the aroma of body odors and perfume along with the tattoo scenery in some of today's horsepitals. Such a great generation! ;D

"If some one infected coughs near you, the air borne droplets will get in through the unprotected eyes."

Goggles or glasses with homemade side and top screens. Great idea! Those will be all the rage for shopping to go with the cool masks. Any more recommendations? ;)

They were lying to stock up on masks for CDC “officials”.

"Doesn’t work if you don’t cover your eyes, too"

Yes, and the N-95 masks are useless, too. 5% of the virus still gets through!

"There is absolutely no way to protect every cell of every body of everyone in America one’s whole life"

Let the medical racket folks, vice/convenience/entertainment merchants, government employees and globalist investors go first. Go to a crowded store in the late afternoon in a blue state, and hang out there for a while.
