Yeah that makes no sense to me. I thought hydroxychloroquine worked by muting the immune response (curtailing a cytokine storm). Seems to me suppressing the immune system before infection would make you more susceptible to a new infection.

One avenue they are looking at is minimizing the symptoms - the body’s immune systems goes into overdrive, and kills the victim. If they can minimize that they can save lives.

That route, however, does nothing on the preventative side.
