U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams explains why the CDC and WHO do not recommend the general public wear masks and how doing so could increase your virus risk

1. One of the ways you can get the coronavirus is by touching a surface and touching your face, so wearing a mask improperly can increase your risk of getting disease.
You do not get a virus by touching anything, unless that is an entry point to your body. Thus it must be assumed people with masks are putting their hands in their mouth or up their nose.
In addition, rejecting masks since some improperly wear them would be like rejecting guns since some also misuse them.
2. It can also give you a false sense of security.
Likewise seat belts and helmets, so to be consistent with rejecting something that is overall beneficial due to what can or sometimes do happen negatively, then all such that do so should be banned.
3. The data does not show it helps.
Or that it does not, and common sense tells you it would help prevent transmission as well as reception, or at least the amount of it. See
Yup. Don’t get me wrong, if you have one and want to wear it that’s entirely up to you. I wouldn’t.
The mask wearing in China is not necessarily the virus, they wear them there all the time due to the heavy pollution.
Freedom works both ways. You choose to head the warning from the Surgeon General and increase your chance of getting the virus because you wear a mask. You are free to do that.
I've been wearing my N95 mask when I rob the local 7-11 it saves me time and I when I steal a car, the gloves mean that I don't have to wipe the prints off of the vehicle.
I'm safe from the chinavirus and the cops, what more could I ax?
No pandemic, plenty of cash, BUT, NO PLACE TO SPEND IT.
No bars, no hookers so I've been giving the cash to homeless orientals, makes me feel good all over, like a liberal.
*not head
This mask disinformation is just a sample of what you can expect if the government takes over the healthcare sector. Actually they are already doing it because the government is already in control of most the healthcare sector. What Im referring to is that when the government cant do what it has promised, ie it cant provide the service it has promised, suddenly they are telling you that you dont really need the service or worse that it would be bad for you. The advice is not based on science but rather on their own inability to do their job and their desire to cover that up.
I read an interview by Chinas top virologist and he stated that the number one thing the western nations are doing wrong is that they are not wearing masks, which in China is considered to be the most effective way to stop the virus. I also saw a video by a top NYC pulmonologist who is in the thick of the battle against COVID 19 and he said that you should wear a mask if you have one and if you dont have an N95 mask then just make your own mask. He stated that the reason is that the purpose of the mask is not so much to stop you from inhaling the ambient virus as it is to prevent you from touching your face. In other words hes saying the exact opposite of what this guy is saying.
This EOE hire is embarrassing.
The gvt wants to horde masks .
Masks are mandatory in China and other Asian countries .
No, not for the rest of your life. Just during a spreading phase of a very contagious respiratory virus.
But don’t use one if you don’t want to. But why should you care what other people do?
Head of S.Korea’s COVID-19 effort on why everyone must wear a mask to prevent spread of the virus. “Masks are definitely effective.”

I wear a mask while I go to the store to get food and other needs. I also keep a distance from others, use hand sanitizer when getting back into the car and do hand washing, etc. when arriving at home. I had the medical N95 masks leftover from a trip to Red China back when SARS was over there. I had put the ones not used aside and searched my storage area until I found them. I’m 73 and in the high-risk range.
I would only wear a mask if it had some style. :)
“Typical doctor stuff. Theyre all really educated and were all too stupid to do it right.”
I had a few minor health issues last few years. I did major google research. Knew more about the condition and it’s symptoms than my doctor. I actually had to shut up during the office visit because I knew I was starting the embarrass him and his lack of knowledge on the subject.
Since they also say 1/2 of us don’t know.we have it and inadvertently spreading it, makes all the more sense people in closed/crowded public spaces should mask it. Med folk would be leas exposed and need less PPE then. win-win
LOL
A mask is a two-way barrier, most important is it prevents you from spreading germs, secondly, it helps protect from taking germs in. So if everyone is wearing a mask there are 2 levels of barriers to the virus being transmitted.
