No, Tammany Hall was the location of NYC Democratic Party which controlled NYC politics from the late 1700’s until the late 1930’s. It was named after the native american chief Tamanend. Its most corrupt leader was a guy named Tweed in the 1860’s. He was corrupt beyond imagination and ran all the rackets long before the Mafia existed in NYC.
Yeah. I read about it after I posted it but Tammany Hall relied on recent Irish immigrants for increasing voting power. Deblasio is using ALL illegal and legal immigrants to do the same thing. I’m not comparing the Irish to Illegal aliens. In those days they had Ellis island that screened legal immigrants. But in a quirky way there’s a parallel to that 1800s corruption.
