“Mary Dale Peterson, president of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and chief operating officer at a Corpus Christi, Texas, childrens hospital, said she declined volunteers offers to make masks.”
That’s a dumb decision. She should have taken them, gratefully, and stored them.
Just in case.

A sewer worker is like a brain surgeon. Were both specialists.

Too bad we can’t use “seamstresses” anymore.

Ha, I read this as sewers. So did I. Is the correct word seamstresses or tailors?

Cloth masks keep the doctors sweat and dripping nose from contaminating the patient.
They can help on the margins, to keep YOU from infecting others if YOU are sick.
Totally inadequate for preventing viruses from getting in.
All those Hipsters will FINALLY start shaving their nasty goats as whiskers don’t make for a good seal.
That’s why WWI Gas Masks brought about the clean shave after the Whiskers of the Civil war.

The word used now is “sewist.”

Don’t forget your post office like most of the district management already has forgotten. Hand sanitizers (there’s no place to wash in the mail truck), masks and gloves are, well, for many stations, non-existent. Cleaning supplies are about the same.

A clever editor could have found a work around for this word problem. Wouldn't even have taken a cunning linguist.
