The lone abortion business in Maryland has been caught defying orders to stop killing babies in abortions under the state mandate to stop all non-essential medical procedures.
As LifeNews.com reported, Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves urged the state’s only abortion facility to close and comply with a state order postponing all elective medical procedures due to the coronavirus. According to a new report that has happened.
The pro-life Republican governor said abortions should stop in the state, especially during the health crisis. Earlier, the state health department issued an order to stop all elective and unnecessary medical procedures so that medical resources can be preserved to combat the growing coronavirus pandemic. Reeves said there is nothing necessary about killing unborn babies in abortions, and the Jackson Women’s Health Organization must comply with the order.
“We’re doing everything in our power, and have for many years, to make Mississippi the safest place in America for unborn children,” Reeves said. “We’ll take whatever action we need to to protect not only the lives of unborn children, but also the lives of anyone who may contract this particular virus.”
According to the Daily Caller, the Jackson Women’s Health Organization (pictured) stopped killing babies in abortions shortly after the order was issued. But now the abortion company has resumed killing babies according to two updated news reports.

Also Wednesday, a day after Reeves said he wants Mississippi’s only abortion clinic to stop doing elective surgeries, the clinic was still seeing patients. Protesters and clinic escorts sometimes stood close to each other on the sidewalk outside, ignoring suggestions by medical professionals that people keep a 6-foot (2-meter) distance between themselves and others.
SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser told LifeNews she is upset that abortion centers are still killing babies in defiance of orders to protect patients during the health care crisis.

“Abortion is not health care. It is the violent destruction of innocent human life, and is certainly not ‘essential.’ Legitimate health care providers desperately need the medical resources Planned Parenthood and others would divert to their abortion business. We urge abortion centers to put their profit interest aside for a change, obey lawful directives like those issued by Texas and Ohio stopping risky and unnecessary procedures, and do their part to stop the spread of coronavirus.”
Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse agreed.
“A death-dealing industry risking the lives of patients and staff to continue operating is the ultimate irony,” she told LifeNews. “What part of ‘elective” in ‘elective abortion’ do these people not understand?”
Morse observed: “Not surprisingly, some abortion facilities have responded by saying abortion is an essential service because it’s ‘time-sensitive.’ Officials in Ohio and Texas issued these orders because abortion clinics put a burden on EMTs and ERs when something goes wrong, as it all too often does. But the abortion lobby will not be deterred. What’s saving the lives of coronavirus patients compared to taking the lives of unborn children?”
Morse continued: “I wish other states would take the bold steps that Ohio and Texas have taken. ‘Elective’ abortions are, by definition, not life-threatening. I hope the Ohio and Texas AGs will prosecute abortion facilities that defy the orders to close during this emergency. The recalcitrance of the abortion lobby underscores the fanaticism and totalitarian ideology behind the Sexual Revolution.”
If the abortion center does not stop killing babies in abortions, Governor Reeves said, after issuing his order, that he would take action. When asked what steps he may take to close the abortion facility, Reeves replied: “… I don’t know any specifics, so I’m not saying they are currently operating. I just simply don’t know … We’ll take whatever necessary actions.”
He emphasized the need for action, especially when the United States is trying to save lives from the coronavirus.
“The reason those elective procedures is shut down is … we need to protect our (personal protective equipment), our masks, et cetera, and other supplies for anyone who gets infected by this virus,” he said.
