The American Revolution, a product of the English Enlightenment, was about man.

The French Revolution, a product of the French Enlightenment, was about men.

>They burned every Bible they co8uld get their hands on, killed every Catholic priest they could get their hands on, in the French Revolution.

The American Revolution, on the other hand, gave us freedom of religion, America being primarily Protestant, the rallying cry was “back to the Bible” on these shores.

There was a massacre of Carmelite nuns at Compiegne. Francis Poulenc turned this episode into an opera in 1959, titled "Dialogues of the Carmelites." This is the hair-raising finale of the opera, the execution of the nuns by guillotine handled in a stylized manner.

They paraded a whore through the streets of Paris in the French Revolution, as a symbol of their rejection of “revelation,” i.e., the Biblical revelation of truth; and their exaltation of “reason,” i.e., humanism, evolution, and socialism.
