She should refuse it out of spite, to prove Trump wrong.
Thanks. You know all the articles about doctors who were having great success in using this drug. The executive order was designed to shut them down. Obviously they can no longer treat patients with this drug unless they are part of a trial.
This happened also when the real syphilis drug first came out. Patients who were too far gone were given the drug, some died and some lived, but there were calls to ban the drug. But doctors had to remind that syphilis kills and that folks can be that far gone that nothing can save them.
The same is going to be true here. When the drug is administered properly before things get too late, it will work in most cases. When the drug is improperly administered or given too late, then the chances are slim.
I expect the Mainstream Media to be irresponsible when reporting deaths during the drugs treatment. They will not tell you how bad off the patient was before they got the treatment hoping to make MONEY on FEAR AND HYSTERIA.
Well OK then the quote was incomplete, and I therefore relent. It is not as bad as it sounded. Thank you for finding the exact text.
I will add that it was just a crushing feeling to have hope and then feel like that hope was taken away. I should have looked harder for the facts.
No, it does not.
So then why is Pence saying this? I am afraid these guys are opening themselves up for blame for lying and misrepresenting facts.
Here is the language:
No pharmacist shall dispense hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine except when written as prescribed for an FDA-approved indication; or as part of a state approved clinical trial related to COVID-19 for a patient who has tested positive for COVID-19, with such test result documented as part of the prescription. No other experimental or prophylactic use shall be permitted, and any permitted prescription is limited to one fourteen day prescription with no refills.
Here is the executive order:
Perhaps “trial” should be put in quotes. 10,000 is a lot of doses for a “trial.”
***New York has reported more than 25,600 confirmed coronavirus cases and 210 deaths,***
Back in 1988, Memphis TV, Population 50,000, experienced a Yellow Fever epidemic in which 5000 (One in Ten) died.
Today in the entire USA the death rate from Cronovirus is only 1 in 600,000.
They already did:
Reuters
Arizona man dies after taking chloroquine for coronavirus
That's the headline. Here's the REAL story:
The couple, in their 60s, experienced immediate distress after swallowing the drug--chloroquine phosphate--an additive used at aquariums to clean fish tanks, according to Banner Health Hospital in Phoenix.
The DNCMedia are on hair-trigger alert to get Donald Trump one way or the other.
Why are they talking about pharmacists? They were talking about letting them prescribe some drugs a while ago, but the ones I talked to do not want the liability.
The Dems and their Media are using scorched earth tactics and don't care who they hurt, even themselves, in the process.
There are 50 states, not all of whom have Democrat governors. Cuomo may try to block the treatment in NY, but if doctors elsewhere are getting positive results, with results showing within days, then the medical establishments of other states will be under increasing pressure.
Looking at the news, you can tell, from the increasing hysteria, that the Left is worried.
He is still an idiot and Trump can override him if necessary. If the FDA approves it, it’s not off-label anymore. Also, you can just go across the river to NJ or PA to get it filled.
Doctors always have the option to prescribe a drug for off-label use. It does not require sanctioning by the FDA.
I don't know what the context was around VP Pence saying that was some kind of a new option.
What this means is, the governor does NOT want hydrochloroquine written for an off-label indication. For now, COVID-19 is not an approved indication. I'm not sure this is a valid order, as doctors write off-label prescriptions quite frequently.
The governor is obviously trying to prevent a run on this drug. That said, he's trampling where he should not tread...between a patient and their doctor.
Is Pence retarded?
The FDA does not need to approve off-label use and there is no category "approved for off-label use" unless they are about to invent one.
Off label use is routine, legal, happens thousands of times a day, every day, in the US.
So pharmacists prescribe now?
they prescribe in most countries.
