Cal Thomas: Coronavirus has a lesson to teach us -- It's about China
Fox News ^ | 3/24/2020 | Cal Thomas

If anything good can come from the coronavirus pandemic, it is the revelation of America’s over-reliance on China, especially when it comes to drugs.

Interviewed by NBC News, retired Brigadier General John Adams said, “Basically, we’ve outsourced our entire industry to China. That is a strategic vulnerability.”

So most (if not all) of the medicines we take are made in China.

On top of that, what are liberals constantly harping on? The "evil drug companies."

Evil CHINESE drug companies?

Of course not -- evil American drug companies.

Can liberals be any more wrong?

They're wrong about everything.

And yet we let them -- have for decades.

We've let them control the narrative.

Maybe we ought to think about taking back a few things: our news sources, our educational institutions, our cities -- everything, really -- our country -- from liberals....

President Trump is doing all he can -- maybe he could use a little help.

Wonder how many medical supplies are made by other countries. Supplies like ventilators?

I remember when the Japanese were the rising industrial power. They used to brag about how they were “hollowing out” American industry.

Interestingly, as their wages rose, the same thing happened to them... their factories increasingly outsourced production to newly industrializing lower cost countries all over Asia. First Korea, then China, then many countries in Southeast Asia.

Something tells me other countries will let it slide. Let the US be the one to stand up to them.

Yes they are and its largely becuause they are emotion driven creatures. You cannot reason with them because they simply have no regard for facts, logic or the lessons of history.

That is what we are dealing with. It is both stunning and tragic for the country that Republican politicians cannot seem to understand the mindset of the opposition. They keep trying to appease them again, and again and again. It never ends.

Now just because Dems are emotion driven does not mean they are not smart. They are cunning and focused on achieving their objectives which gives them a big edge over the feckless Republicans.

We need to stop being fools.

This was and is an ongoing bioweapon attack by the PRC to collapse the world economy and derail trade.

We know the virus was originally taken from bats and pangolins but then it was engineered in Whuan labs. We know that fact, there’s no questino.

The virus is an assembly of virus parts (different RNA strands bound together).

The corona segment is only one part. Other parts were engineered onto it. The US supplied PRC virologists with other parts and tech so that the Chinese could play with it. But it was the PRC that decided they would weaponize it.

Why bats?

PRC virologists noticed the bats carried the virus but did not get sick, did not die.

So they played around with it and engineered it to kill rats.

And they kept playing with it until it could could cause humans to develop pneumonia and in some cases die.

They engineered the virus to have enormous infection power.

And guess who was involved in the background?

Bill Gates.

He’s a virology nut, owns all sorts of patents on vaccines, wants to see population reduced because overpopulation causes climate change etc. Loves the PRC, he’s on record saying that, ostensibly because the PRC is always moving to reduce population.

It’s hard for us to believe but such people form a Eugenics club or cult and would not be bothered in the least if tens of millions were wiped out by a virus.

Event 201 last October was a related biowar planning exercise.

True but we the voters don’t do much if anything to hold our representatives accountable. Once elected the scoundrels are allowed to get away with deceiving us over and over again. Just saying.

The lessons to be learned are not so much about China as about ourselves.

Why did we allow our economy to be so narrowly focused in areas other than manufacturing?

Why did we allow so much production to be sourced in any one country?

Why did we allow ourselves to be so easily frightened by government and media so as to hand over our freedoms and livelihoods without a shot?

Why are so many of us hell bent on completely remaking our society even if the cost is devastation?

No, the lesson is not about China. We have always known about the CHICOMS. It’s the sellouts and traitors in the US.

I was stunned to read that 95% of our antibiotics were manufactured in China and or the ingredients of most pharmaceuticals formulated in the U.S..

Then the Chi-coms make not-so-veiled threats to cut off our drug supply...that's the kick in the teeth. Not to mention...but I will, pharma using cheap Chi-com labor to increase profitability under the guise of offering cheaper drug costs.

Uh huh! Right! This is a national security issue as well as our critical manufacturing being shipped to a country that is technically...our adversary.

America! For all that is good and holy...look at your labels. Buy American whenever you can. Pay the extra .30 cents for a product...good grief.

Walmart is the largest employer in America...retail jobs. That should alarm every single American. Not only has critical manufacturing been outsourced, we are also losing the critical SKILL sets in order to perform machine tooling/fabrication and so forth.

One day, we will likely be at war with the Chi-coms...then what?

The bigger lesson is how we are letting little dictators needlessly close down whole swaths of the USA instead of targeting the quarantines where they are most needed. Cannot blame the Chinese for that. They made their big mistake by failing to move quickly, but we are continuing our own folly.

Event 201 last October was a related biowar planning exercise.

Can you give us a d@mn break? We live in East King County an area with over 500,000 recent Chinese immigrants and tens of thousands them went home for Chinese New Year, over ten thousand came back after the travel ban by returning through Canada. Going to Costco often feels like you are somewhere in China or South East Asia. This virus has been making the rounds in our community for at least 3 months. The question here isn't whether you are going to get it, but was that cough you had last winter was the virus? In many cases it was.

Half the people who had it experienced no symptoms, another 30% experienced mild enough symptoms that they could ignore them. The vast majority of people who have died here had a good chance of dying from anything that gives someone a cough or the sniffles. Use your BRAIN!!! Does that sound like an effective “bio-weapon”.

The economic crisis this is causing can all be attributed to the media and people like YOU, who have been creating panic and politicians who have been massively overreacting.

i remember drywall and dog food ( i believe dogs died?)
from China.
And then you wonder what else is contaminated coming for China.
They do not care about their own people, like most leftist democrats in America, so why would they care if they are poisoning us?

I live in King County. A grocery owner a few blocks from where I live was taken to Harborview with Covid-19. After appearing to be recovering, he went downhill and died last Thursday. I knew him for almost thirty years.

Now what was your point?

Oh, yeah I get it. You didn’t bother to look up last October’s ‘Event 201’ where a group of eugenicists were discussing how the pandemic would be handled.

It was in OCTOBER 2019.

Before any report of an outbreak.

Get caught up.

I live in East King County where going to Costco often feels like you are taking a trip to China or SE Asia. I have both worked and volunteered at the Life Care Center in Kirkland. This thing has been going around the community here for a solid three months.

I am very sorry for the shopkeeper you were familiar with. But the fact of the matter is, statistically speaking if he died from this virus he was either old, unhealthy or both. Bio-weapons are not designed to kill people who are likely to die from the flu or a cold anyway. They are designed to kill healthy people. You are spreading nonsense! That is my point!
