Needed time to catch up with logistics.
Ventilators, masks, beds, drugs, testing.
If you want to “let it rip” we need stockpiles of this stuff.

The 15 day social distance may very well have saved us a huge downstream problem.

It was the best move given available info at the time and it should serve to identify infected individuals and check the spread of the virus at a critical time

That said, its very likely learn we are in far better shape than we expected after two weeks - and that we have a manageable response plan in place
