At the current platinum price of $619.35/ounce (=$22.11/gram) we would need a coin with a radius of 328 feet and a thickness of 4.8 feet, approximately. And of course, we need two of them.

Fae value does not equal metal value.

If it did, $1 Silver Eagles would cost $1 and $10 gold coins would cost $10. And a Sacajawea dollar would cost about 5 cents.

So a $1T face value coin does not need to be worth $1T in metal content.

It remains a joke, though.

$619.35/oz = $19.91/g. Platinum is sold by the troy ounce, which is 31.1 grams.
