To further this point, the Census has Miami-Dade as the most densely populated county at 1454.54 per sq km which is approximately 904 per sq mile. They are throwing off averages for the state overall. There's PLENTY of room to grow in Florida if you can tolerate the mosquitoes.

Having flown over the state on the way to Ft. Lauderdale last month, you can certainly see huge stretches of land that are unpopulated.
