The Trump administration, moving quickly to halt the spread of the coronavirus, is seriously considering grounding all passenger air traffic for up to 30 days, temporarily halting stock trading on Wall Street, and imposing a shelter-in-place rule, according to officials.
Key officials have begun alerting industry leaders, Capitol Hill, and agencies that the “radical” plan could come early next week if the warlike efforts to stop the spread of the virus fail.
On Thursday, the administration began to prepare the nation for 9/11-style moves when the State Department issued a “Level Four” warning against traveling overseas. The warning is the most severe that the department has.
In a notice, the State Department said Americans traveling abroad may find their travel “severely disrupted” and “may be forced to remain outside of the United States for an indefinite time frame.”

I suspect that Trump is working with other world leaders to coordinate the lockdown. 30 days, starting next week, seems reasonable to me - if we actually want this nightmare to end.

I’ve also put on my pointy foil hat and concur with you that this is “bioweapon” all the way. Just the look on the faces of the President and his Coronovirus Control Center group gives it away. They’re looking almost catatonic, as if they’ve got information that is beyond scary. What’s to come with certain population groups in the USA when they’re told to shelter in place and martial law is instituted won’t be pretty. Also, the everyday supply chain and medical device shortages will being to exponentially multiply. My opinion only.

A highly effective vaccine is surely the best “fix”, but quite a ways away.
Having an effective treatment is a breakthrough for the interim. It makes testing all the more important.
Continue physical separation, to drop infection rates, but treat the infected to limit the economic and social effects of death and physical damage.
Certainly less high risk for those who continue to keep the country going until theis “Burns out” and herd immunity is reached.
Those most at risk will have to shelter until the vaccine is available.
