I’ve been trying to figure that out, too. People seem to think that they are going to be locked in their homes for 2-3 months with no ability to receive deliveries.
Same thing happens every single time a snow storm is forecast. You go to the grocery store or Costco, and its packed with people buying gallons and gallons of milk, piles of bread, etc. They act as if they will be stuck in their homes for a week or two, if not longer. When was the last time ANYONE in any urban or suburban area in this country was stuck in their home for more than two days due to a snow storm?
It was also amusing, back when Hurricane Sandy hit, to see all of the geniuses who had backup power generators, but apparently never thought about stockpiling the gasoline needed for those generators to be of any use.
Never forget that, taken as a whole, people are incredibly panicky, stupid, and short-sighted.
