What has been quoted ever since, ad nauseam, ever since:
“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters.”
So, whereas in reality he was calling out a pollster for lying and insulting Trump supporters, the way they edited it, it seemed like he was bragging!
I watched that whole misunderstanding unfold, and there’s no way to put it back in the box. It is now just accepted by nearly everyone that Trump once boasted that he could kill someone and his supporters would still vote for him.
Same with the “you can grab women by the pussy” comment. He was just pointing out the truth - if you are a rich and famous enough, there are a lot of women who wouldn’t protest. But if you edit it enough you can make it sound like he was boasting about his own personal exploits.
Amazing.
When the whole METOO movement was really big and then during the trial of Weinstein, I thought about what Trump had said. After being repeatedly egged on by the disgusting Bush guy, Trump said something like ... they let celebrities do it. Our media is really disgusting.
