And the over 85 age cohort in America is about 6MM people. How many should we callously leave to die?
The mortality rate is not the issue, it is the morbidity rate coupled with the shear size of the percentage that sad experience now tells us WILL need a respirator to survive.

Insane ain't it?
Interesting - there are probably dynamics that most never think of...as with anything - time will tell.
With the way things appear to be going, some nurses - there are a number of single parents with the same bills a married couple may have, may be willing to build up some cash reserves....when it comes down to it, it’s the nurses that pull the lions share of the work in tending to those in ICU situations - or even “regular” hospitalization cases.
Of course, extra babysitting/child tending tactics will also come into play.
Some folks will be going nuts, twiddling their thumbs and praying to be able to work and others will be overworked and tired...which would you rather be?
Stay well - and may fortune meet you when trying to find groceries - it’s getting to look like North Korea or Venezuela in the grocery stores.
Well - if it was originally posted on FR at that time, then you might be correct - but I see you didn’t actually go to the link and see when it was actually posted on Facebook (where the link goes to). But it had been posted 3+ hours before it hit FR, and I had been pointed to the post before it hit FR.
So- considering your failure to do basic research into the age of the actual original post tells me YOU are the one “firing from the hip”.
Thanks for playing...
