The lack of testing in US, compared to South Korea, IS a problem. If we’d been able to test on a large scale, we might have seen that the mortality rate is much lower than fear-mongers have been shouting.
I’ve been so frustrated/angry at the health officials on the White House coronavirus task force, who won’t give straight answers when they’re asked why we were so behind in testing. Without fail, they “answer” by changing the subject and talk about something else.
Apparently the bureaucrats at CDC and FDA may be to blame for the testing delays - at least that’s what I’m picking up from articles on the problem. Trump and his cabinet should make this clear, and explain that it’s a case of government insiders screwing-up, if that’s what happened.
