You need to review that metrics. CDC says it is overall at least 10x more deadly than flu on average and even higher among folks over 60. Dr. Fauci estimated millions dead. But dismiss this as something lighter than a flu.
And how do they know this beyond maybe 5% accuracy? Have they tested everyone in the country for Covid-19? Have they even tested everyone, accurately, who has presented with the symptoms?
The answer is no. No they haven't. Not even close. They have NO idea how many people have, or have had Wuhan-19. It literally could be in the millions who have had it which would make it far LESS deadly than influenza.
They...have...no...idea with any reasonable accuracy what the denominator is.
Without know that to a very high degree of accuracy, any number thrown out there is pure, unadulterated Bullsh!t.
In 2014, CDC "modelers" (at least 19 w/MD's & PhD's after their names) projected that between 550,000 and 1.4 million people would contract the Ebola virus in just two African countries, Liberia and Sierra Leone.[1]
Turns out, 28,616 infection cases were reported in not just Liberia and Sierra Leone but also Guinea.[2]
They were off by 95 - 98%.
After 4 months of exposure, to a virus that is said to be at least as infectious as the flu...and there are only 69 deaths and 3,774 with Wuhan-19 VS 22,000 - 55,000 deaths and 36,000,000 - 56,000,000 infected with the flu?
Insane.
Anyone saying Wuhan-19 is "at least 10x more deadly" than the flu is being dishonest and unscientific in the least and more than likely has an agenda.
Nobody knows the true denominator. Nobody. Therefore...it's impossible to say how deadly it is compared to the flu...even within a range.
Where are these “millions dead” estimates coming from? There is only 6,500 deaths worldwide.
China had 3,000 deaths out of 80,000 infected.
South Korea had 8,000 cases and only 75 deaths.
Italy has a higher death rate, but that’s because their population is much older. Italy’s average age is 10 years older than the US.
