Technically not...but how many cars did we produce between 1942 and 1944? 139. It was clear who was running businesses at that time, and it wasn’t private companies.

The government instituted rationing during WWII, so while they may not have taken over the means of production as Hitler or Stalin did, they took control of a lot by controlling the customers.
