I was in Washington, DC for the Cuba missile crisis, it felt like quiet desperation. This crisis has a lot more elements of mass panic or determined survivalism. At least that is what it looks like in the grocery stores.
The ratio of independent Americans to snowflake drama queens and dependency leeches is probably much different than during the Missile Crisis.
