It doesn’t really matter if Dims/Progressives/Media/NeverTrumpers are making use of American’s concern over this virus. OF COURSE they are going to do that. And if it wasn’t this, it’d be something else.
What matters is that people are concerned and they have come to expect effective government action. And they expect to be treated with respect.
The endless effort on the right, and by White House allies to minimize, deride and dismiss these concerns will result in political disaster.
